Bio

Doug Schmude blends country, folk, rock, and blues into a modern Americana sound that will resonate with fans of Steve Earle, Ryan Bingham and Zach Bryan. Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and raised in Oklahoma and Texas, Doug has also spent time in Colorado, Arizona, and Tennessee before settling in Southern California—his songs carrying the stories and grit of everywhere he’s been.

His solo live shows feature acoustic guitar, harmonica, and expressive blues slide guitar, creating a dynamic, roots-driven performance. Alongside his original songs, Doug weaves in a select mix of covers for an engaging and authentic live music experience.

Doug has released 6 albums of original music. His music has been played on over 200 radio stations in the US and Europe. He has been performing live for over 20 years predominately as a solo artist but also with his band Doug Schmude and the Last Dollar. Doug plays acoustic and electric guitar, Dobro, slide guitar, harmonica and bass. He also plays just enough mandolin, banjo, piano and drums to be dangerous.
